Just thought I'd set this up so members could talk about episodes. This being for the "Pilot" episode of The Sopranos. Each week or so I guess we can talk about the next episode and so on.
For one thing, I remember this being when Carmela said Tony would "go to hell when he died" when he was getting his MRI or something. When it was mentioned at the end of season four when they had their huge fight leading to their seperation I couldn't remember when she'd said it. Now I recall it being in the very first episode. Also, Junior still had his marbles and was at the top of his game. Definately brighter days than later seasons.

I have to agree. Its kinda sad now, when you watch the sixth season, part 1, when Tony gets shot, and you look back at the Pilot when Junior was still active.

Not to mention by the sixth season that most of the cast was killed off. I mean, if you look back to when the whole crew was hanging out in front of Satriale's and then later when there's basically no one left; it is really depressing. I guess it reflected Tony's world since we were seeing it through his eyes, so to speak. In the end you're completely alone with it all...I believe Tony said something along those lines and they couldn't be truer. It's every man for himself basically.
Season one was really the only season we see Junior really in on the action. Like he wanted to whack Little Pussy Malanga in Vesuvio's. For every other season he's either confined to his house since he's sentenced to house arrest...or the mental institution. To see him in the back of Satriale's again was nice too. I'm rewatching the first season. The atmosphere of the show definately feels lighter and brighter than it does compared to the final episode "Made in America".

So true. I did like how they went back to alot of things in the later series though. For example, Junior wanted to whack Little Pussy Malanga in Vesuvio, and when Vesuvio is burned down, thats the last we hear of it. Then, when Junior shoots Tony, right before he pulls the trigger, he thinks Tony is Little Pussy, and Tony replies "Uncle Jun, Little Pussy Malanga has been dead for six years!" which I found kinda cool, because it reverts back to the old times, plus, we now know that Little Pussy is in fact dead. I assume that he was meant to be killed during the year gap with Season 1 and Season 2.
The place is almost empty now though, as you said, most of the characters are now dead, and some, i really wish weren't. I really liked a certain persons death, at the gas station, with his wife. That was what everyone was waiting for after so many of the other side were killed.

Yeah, I remember that now when Uncle Junior thinks Tony's Pussy Malanga. I hadn't been sure what he said when he yelled and pulled the trigger, but now I finally know. As much as I loved seeing a certain person get killed at a gas station (( ;D )) I did really like Frank Vincent.
Also, the very first on screen kill of The Sopranos, Emil Kolar....or E-Mail according to Chris. Lol. That guy gets dug up at least two more times after they bury him if I recall correctly. Chris, with the help of Georgie, dig him up and then he's moved to Uncle Pat's farm as we find out later in season five. I think in the episode "Cold Cuts" Tony B. and Chris dig up E-Mail's bones along with two others and crush them up before tossing them in a lake. I like how they brought him up again too, like they did when Uncle Jun mentioned Malanga, all those seasons later.

I cant remember what it was, but if i remember correctly, they made a reference to a certain death (Clue: About to get married to Janice, she shoots him for punching her in the face) death in "The Blue Comet" which I also thought was quite cool.

Yeah, I do love those referances that people who've actually followed the series all throughout would get. Another thing about this episode is one of my all time favorite scenes out of the series; when Tony and Chris go after that Mahaffey guy. Tony runs him down and then beats the shit out of him. Chris was more concerned with the damage done to his car. I love it.

I love the next part where Mahaffey is on the bridge with Hesh and the camera shows the ice cream truck driving away. The guy shits himself lol.

Oh yeah. The scene with Hesh and Big P. That is a great scene. I was waiting for them to throw him over or something, but then I realized that Hesh is just an associate and wouldn't be involved with that. Still would have been great to see though, but it got the desired effect on the Mahaffey guy.
"Mahaffey pullin' his taffey." Sorry I just had to say that line. XP Just noticed that Junior's glasses are smaller in this ep when he's driving the car with Livia on their way to A.J.'s B-day party. I knew something looked off. Lol.

lol, I'm sorry, but I have to bring something up, even though its not even in this season, never mind episode, but I'm dying to talk about it lol.
In the episode where a certain person gets raped, I was completely waiting for her to tell Tony his name and what not, because he would've kicked his ass. It would've been so good, but I guess they got the effect across. She didn't wanna have to owe him anything, plus, shes on the law side.
Same reaction for you? Just wondering, as I've never talked about this scene with anyone. My friend has only seen the 1st season, and the only person I know who's seen them all like me is my dad, but that question never arose.

I think that's season three, "Employee of the Month". Just testing my knowledge since I'm a trivia psycho, don't mind me. XP
I was on the edge of my seat saying "Tell him! Tell him damn it!" ((yes I talk to the t.v., I'm looney)), but I knew she wouldn't. I just had a feeling that she wouldn't do it, as already been stated, for them to get the effect across that she didn't want to sink so low and cross that line between what's right and what's easy. Jesus Rossi....the dude who raped her. I would have loved to see Tony or one of the crew beat the shit out of the guy, but alas no such luck. I like how they ended after she said "No." I just love those kinds of endings where it just leaves things hanging. That rape scene was brutal from what I remember. Yeesh. Made it so much more infuriating that the guy got away.

Yeah, me too Speaking of Season 3, again off topic, 'Pine Barrens' was easily one of the best episodes ever made.

"Pine Barrens" = Funniest Ep. I remember laughing so much I had to watch it again to get all of the dialogue I missed the first time. Paulie and Chris were great.
Paulie -"He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator." Chris - "Interior decorator? His apartment looked like shit."
Lol.

Damn, I was gonna quote that I liked when they're in the van with the packets. Paulie: "Here, mix it with the horseradish" lol.

Ah, sorry. That was probably the most memorable quote, that's why. XP That scene with them in the van was great. Paulie's hair was actually messed up for the first and last time in this ep. Lol. He looked hilarious. And when the piece of carpet he wrapped around his foot came off, he shoots it, lol. Typical Paulie.
